(Online) No Place for Saints: Mobs and Mormons in Jacksonian America Author Talk with Adam Jortner
Monday, April 67:00—8:00 PMOnline
Zoom
The emergence of the Mormon church, now more properly referred to as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is arguably the most radical event in American religious history. How and why did so many Americans flock to this new religion, and why did so many other Americans seek to silence or even destroy that movement? The author will speak to the history of events around the LDS movement; this is not a presentation on LDS theology.
This event is co-sponsored by the Dutchess County Library Association.
